A Two-Acre Campus Made for Childhood
At Frog Pond, the environment is part of the curriculum. Our children have space to move, investigate, create, care for living things, and experience the changing seasons on our nature-rich campus beside Huntley Meadows Park.
We make thoughtful choices that support children’s health, reduce unnecessary waste, and protect the land and wetlands surrounding us. Stewardship is not a separate lesson—it is practiced through everyday experiences such as gardening, composting, caring for animals, observing wildlife, and using natural materials with respect.
What We Do
We use cleaning and sanitizing practices that meet health and licensing requirements while choosing gentler products when appropriate.
• We reduce unnecessary packaging and choose recycled or lower-waste supplies when practical.
• Children participate in gardening, composting, and caring for the animals who share our campus.
• We protect the surrounding ecosystem by avoiding routine use of pesticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers on the grounds.
• Plantings are selected with attention to the local habitat and the native species surrounding Huntley Meadows.
• Children learn that caring for the earth happens through small, consistent actions—not only during special lessons.
Protecting Our Shared Environment
• We do not use routine pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers to maintain the children’s outdoor spaces.
• Smoking and vaping are prohibited throughout the school grounds.
• We avoid unnecessary single-use items and heavily packaged products when practical alternatives are available.
• We use salt and ice-melt products sparingly because runoff from our property connects to the wetlands we value.
• We teach children to enjoy nature without damaging habitats, disturbing wildlife, or wasting natural resources.
