Current Staff

In addition to being a wonderful place for children, Frog Pond is also a great place to work. Our staff is made up of individuals representing a variety of cultures and ethnicities. The teacher/administrative retention rate at Frog Pond is very high, as we celebrate a diverse, safe, and nurturing place to grow as a teacher and childcare professional.

Here is a snapshot of some of our leaders:

Director of School Family

Ms. Evelyn
Teaching is my passion, not my paycheck. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in K–12 Special Education and a Master’s in Curriculum, Modification, and Instruction. I am also a certified Nature Teacher (Level 1) and currently serve as Chairperson of the Child Care Advisory Committee.

I believe children learn with their whole bodies and that it’s our responsibility to raise the next generation to be thoughtful stewards of the earth and its resources. Inspired by the work of Dr. Becky Bailey and Bev Bos, I place a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning, connection, and the power of relationships. At Frog Pond, we nurture not only growing minds but also kind hearts because love is an action word and a service we provide every day.

My love for nature, baking, and community outreach fills my life both in and out of the classroom. It’s a joy and an honor to lead a program that values curiosity, compassion, and care for one another and the world around us.

Tadpole Class

Hi, my name is Ms. Linda!
I’m originally from Michigan but moved to Virginia to be closer to my daughter and her family. I’ve been teaching in Virginia for five years and have been part of the Frog Pond family since 2020.

I’m a nurturer at heart and love spending time with my grandson we enjoy doing arts and crafts, painting, and building things together. I also love to sew and find joy in creating and exploring. Being outdoors is one of my favorite ways to recharge; I spend as much time as I can hiking, biking, playing sports, and camping.

At Frog Pond, I feel truly at home combining my love for nature, creativity, and caring for children as they grow and discover the world around them.

Tadpole Class

Hello, my name is Ms. Koko!
I first joined Frog Pond in 2011 and returned after a two-year break. It feels wonderful to be back in a place that truly reflects what I value most learning through nature, connection, and community.

I love working with children, especially in a setting where they can explore, play, and grow in the natural world just like I did growing up. I have a deep appreciation for Conscious Discipline and enjoy putting its principles into practice every day to help children feel safe, connected, and confident in expressing themselves.

I’m always happy to share my knowledge with others and lend a hand wherever I’m needed. Whether it’s supporting a fellow teacher, helping a child problem-solve, or joining in outdoor play, I find joy in being part of a caring, collaborative community that nurtures both children and adults alike.

Dragonfly Class

Hi, my name is Ms. Rebeca!
I moved to the United States when I was 14 years old and have been part of the Frog Pond family for nine wonderful years. I love working in a place surrounded by nature—it reminds me so much of how I grew up in El Salvador.

I hold my Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and am currently an observer for Virginia’s VQB5 quality system. I’m also continuing my studies toward an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. I have a strong understanding of Conscious Discipline principles and love incorporating Coyote Games and other nature-based learning experiences into my classroom.

I truly enjoy spending my days with children watching them grow, explore, and discover the world around them. Outside of work, I love sports, art, coffee, and desserts!

Dragonfly Class

Hi, I’m Mr. Max!
I’m so excited to be back for my third year as a preschool teacher at Frog Pond! It’s been such a joy to be part of this warm and creative school family, and I can’t wait to continue helping our little learners grow, explore, and discover new things every day.

I studied Marketing and Management in college—where I also played lacrosse—but I’ve known since my very first summer job in high school that teaching was my true passion. I’m currently pursuing my certification in CIS and love continuing to learn new ways to support young children’s development.

I’m an energetic, outgoing person who loves making kids laugh. Whether I’m being goofy, doing a fun science experiment, or building something together, it’s always worth it to see their big smiles and excitement for learning. Outside of the classroom, I’m a huge sports fan—especially basketball, which I’ve played since third grade.

I’m looking forward to another amazing year full of laughter, growth, and discovery with our wonderful Frog Pond families!

Kitchen Manager/Float

Ms.Latrice

Hi, my name is Ms. Latrice!
I’ve been part of the Frog Pond family for two years and bring over 10 years of experience as a kitchen manager, along with more than 8 years working in preschool settings. I love spending time with the children gardening, exploring nature, and helping them learn about the importance of balanced, nutritious meals and where their food comes from. I’m never too busy to talk or play with the kids and am always happy to step in and help teachers whenever needed. Being part of a nature-based school community that values connection, curiosity, and care is truly rewarding for me.
